Here, time passes peacefully. The stress of the big city seems far away when you discover the village of Quévy-le-Petit. The route will go right to the heart of this peaceful countryside, along a superb path that goes to Bougnies – it’s a somewhat dreamy scene of a country landscape, with everything harmonious and tranquil. The paths and minor roads navigate between the vast croplands of this still agricultural country. On the horizon, a colourful palette extends until it is out of sight. The wind turbines gracefully churn in the endlessly blowing breeze. Following the shadow of their blades, we come to the Domaine du Chant d’Éole, posed as an island in the middle of fields. Crossing the limestone ground, we follow the Chardonnay grape vines. At the end, like a beacon, the church of Quévy-le-Petit stands out against the ochre and yellow crops in the background.

Points of interest
1 The Domaine du Chant d'Éole
Climate change can sometimes lead to happy consequences... Wine production in Belgium is becoming a reality, as it is here in Quévy. Belgian-Champagne Filip Remue was seeking well exposed land – that of Quévy offered what he was dreaming of. In 2011, the first Chardonnay varietals were planted. Two years later, the grapes were harvested, portending a very good crop. The Domaine is him, born in 2015. It was built in a wind farm where vines of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Blanc grow at their feet. And their role is most beneficial... Their feet benefit from the gentle breezes from their blades, which delays the frosts. From this limestone soil and the ideal exposure of the hillsides comes high quality Brut Blanc de Blancs and Brut Rosé. But behind these bottles hides a long work of patience and expertise. These wines are also the most beautiful ambassadors of a showcased land – in two years, the Domaine du Chant d’Eole has acquired its letters of nobility.
The Domaine is open Wednesday and Thursday, from 10am to 5pm. Friday and Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
