With the last houses of Lens behind you, you’re immediately immersed in countryside. The rearranged routes offer beautiful view of the landscape. You come across isolated farms and niches here and there; the countryside is well and truly alive. Producers, grouped in associations, offer local products: Le Panier Lensois (a mutually supportive buying group) thus brings together around fourteen producers in the municipality. Shortly after crossing a vast field, you have Bauffe. The square, which has become deserted, has emptied itself of the shops which were the village life of yesteryear. With a short trip to Picardy alongside the beautiful park Pairi Daiza, you have a choice stop! The return passes through landscapes that aren’t foreign to us as the life in this countryside has already been captured! It is found in the boxes of comic strips by the talented designer Paul Cuvelier, native of the area. Thanks to this artist, the landscapes of Lens have become immortal.
