Not far from Mons, the Jemappes park will charm you with its many varied activities. Start by walking through the domain known as Château Guillochain and admire its rose garden and flower beds. Don’t forget to look up from time to time to contemplate the century-old trees, in the 6-hectare arboretum. Sequoias, beech trees and plane trees will salute your passage.

You will also notice a pretty ecumenical chapel as well as a cold room, almost unscathed relics from the end of the 18th century, period when this domain was built. From an artistic perspective, enjoy the beautiful days and discover new creations by artist painters who come to show their works in the park every week.

In addition, sport is high on the agenda. Tennis courts and a health track are available for the sportier among you. In good weather, a pétanque club will welcome you for a game of bowls. Children can let off steam in the playground reserved for them. For refreshment, a brasserie, the Roseraie, opens its doors and offers you a new room for banquets, weddings, seminars, meetings and other events. A bar and a kitchen for 180 people are at your disposal.

The meeting place for fishermen

With an area of around 20 hectares, the Jemappes park is not lacking in bodies of water. Vast fishing ponds are accessible all year, from dawn till dusk. Competitions are organised on a regular basis. The price for one line is €7.50 per day (+ €2.50 per extra line). It’s the opportunity to compare yourself to other fishing enthusiasts or to enjoy your hobby. The entrance to the park is free of charge.
