Icare ou le rêve de voler/ Loraine Motti
Location of the piece: Rue Grande, 118 - 7020 Maisières
From illustrations to wall frescoes, Loraine’s graphical universe first took shape in a nomadic setting during long residencies in South America.
After starting in the Parisian wastelands in 2009, her practical application of wall painting was developed in Chili, where she resided as of 2014.
Now based in Lyon, her style has taken shape on a surrealistic foundation. The recurring theme is that of the landscape, interpreted poetically and idealistically, boosted by her choice of offbeat colours, making most of her works tend towards a dreamlike graphic style.
Based on acrylic and aerosol technique, her fresco work rises to monumental heights as well as to a small scale. She works equally well with painting on canvas, illustration on paper, silk-screening, and spray can techniques.
