The Mayor's Garden

Historic site and monument ,  Heritage buildings ,  Park and garden in Mons
  • Behind the Town Hall, the Mayor's Garden (Jardin du Mayeur), designed between 1930 and 1936, is a little haven of tree-lined peace right in the heart of the city. It contains the Ropieur sculpture (Gober, 1937), which splashes passers-by, as well as lots of century-old trees including copper beeches, lime trees, paulownia, horse-chestnut trees and other attractive plants. The Mayor's Garden is the perfect place to listen to the bells of the belfry, and you can often hear concerts there too. Open every day from 8am to 10pm.
