This museum is overflowing with photos, engravings, posters, flags, books, etc. that evoke the folklore and history of life in Lens in the 20th century. One section is devoted to cartoonist Paul Cuvelier, one of the artists who contributed to the great Tintin series, among others. Another section offers documents, costumes and objects relating to the old school and the two World Wars. Most of the museum’s holdings have been donated. Open the last Sunday of each month from 2:00 – 6:00 pm, or by appointment. Guided tours for groups of 12 or less, in French, available by appointment. Tour lasts approx. 1½ hours.
