Parc du Chanoine Puissant

Canon Edmond Puissant is a popular figure of Mons, a self-taught archaeologist, and an amateur antique dealer who restored several historic buildings. In 1933, he donated to the city of Mons the old sanctuary of the Abbey of Ghislenghien, situated at N° 22, rue Notre Dame Débonnaire, and the chapel of St. Margaret, situated on the rue des Sars. The donation included all the collections housed in these buildings, located on both side of this garden.
