The Castle Park, located at the highest point of the city, offers a spectacular view of Mons and its surroundings. Whether covered in snow or basking in sunshine, it is the perfect spot for a stroll, offering an exceptional panorama of the region. At the heart of this park, you can explore remnants of the city’s history: the first city walls, the remains of the keep, and the César Tower (14th century), a former gateway of the castle that connects the rue Bervoets to the park. Don’t miss the Saint-Calixte Chapel (11th century), a vestige of the castle. On the edge of the park, overlooking the rue des Clercs, stands the bust of Charles Plisnier, winner of the Prix Goncourt in 1937, sculpted by Akarova. A true green oasis in the heart of the city, the Castle Park is the perfect place to unwind, whether with your partner, family, friends, or colleagues. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
