visitMons and the Pôle Muséal are offering guided tours in the following museums: the Artothèque, the Belfry, the Musée du Doudou (local history museum), the Mons Memorial Museum, and the BAM featuring the exceptional Roy Lichtenstein exhibition.

These one and a half hour guided tours are available at a special price: €55 from Tuesday to Saturday and €70 on Sundays, public holidays, and at night. The entrance fee to the museum or exhibition will be added to the price of the guided tour based on the traditional price list (individual, senior, student, family, etc.). They are intended exclusively for people living under the same roof, potentially accompanied by one of their close contacts.

Booking is required for these tours which are conducted in compliance with health regulations:
 
  • masks must be worn (except for children under 12 years old)
  • social distancing must be followed
  • hands must be disinfected
  • etc.

After showcasing big names like Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Niki de Saint-Phalle, this autumn the BAM is welcoming one of the most important figures in 20th century art: Roy Lichtenstein, master of American pop art.

Guided tour of the Musée du Doudou.

Through objects from the City of Mons museum collections and technological tools, the space invites you to discover the Ducasse de Mons, recognised by UNESCO in 2005. From the originality of the Ducasse de Mons to the legend of Saint George, the museum is committed to understanding and highlighting the various aspects of this universal and centuries-old history. A tour helps visitors understand and interpret this exceptional intangible heritage.

Guided tour of the Belfry.

A museum up high! The exhibition spaces and their contents will lead the visitor on a journey through time to the roots of the Belfry’s construction, to understand its role through the different ages, as well as a vertical journey to discover the region. The history of the Belfry of Mons and its recognition by UNESCO play a central role. It’s the symbol of the city and the only baroque Belfry in Belgium. Built between 1661 and 1672 by architect and sculptor Louis Ledoux and survey engineer Vincent Anthony, it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1999.

The MMM invites visitors of all ages to ponder the many complex realities of wartime events. A vast permanent exhibition sets out the military history of the region of Mons from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.

Guided tour of the Artothèque

A space for storage, research, heritage study, and catering, the Artothèque houses the collections that are not permanently displayed in the other museum sites. In addition to its conservation mission, this place also plays an important role in promoting Montois heritage by making it virtually accessible and by lifting the veil on the “hidden” professions in museums.
