How many stars are in the Milky Way? What do we know about black holes? Why do planets orbit the Sun? How does a telescope work? At only 100 km above our heads, closer than Liège or Ghent, space never ceases to amaze us! This autumn, get ready for a fabulous journey into the heart of the Universe. Explore the realm of stars, planets, and galaxies; unlock the mysteries of our Solar System, create your own universe, listen to the sound of black holes, and much more! A guaranteed cosmic “Wow” effect through 100% interactive experiences, monumental installations, surprising astronomical instruments, and video reports (almost) live from space ;-)! An interactive exhibition inspired by the questions of SPARKOH! visitors. 3 zones of space exploration Test gravity on different planets, see yourself swallowed by a black hole, create your own Universe: these are just a few of the experiences awaiting you in the COSMOS exhibition. Designed to amaze while demystifying the fundamentals and major theories of the Universe, this interactive exhibition invites you to explore space through three fascinating zones. Explore the Solar System Our cosmic neighbourhood In this first zone, take part in a journey to the heart of our Solar System. Meet the planets and other celestial bodies that surround our Sun, discover their rotation principles, their composition, and what makes them unique, through dynamic and playful installations. Challenges: feel the gravity of each planet relative to the others, launch your rocket into space by calculating its trajectory, master the vacuum of space, use a telescope… Travel through the galaxies And discover everything within! In this second zone, take exploration even further and lose yourself in the vastness of the galaxies. Be captivated by the beauty of the stars, discover their life cycle, their composition, and how they form and arrange themselves into impressive galaxies. In this section, also explore exoplanets and black holes! Challenges: listen to the song of a black hole, test a gravitational lens, create and classify galaxies… Dive beyond… Into the unknown and the vastness of the Universe In this final zone, head to the edges of the Universe. What is its origin, how has it evolved, and what are its possible ends? Space exploration provides valuable answers but also raises new questions, fueling our curiosity and strengthening our desire for cosmic exploration! Many open questions in a field of possibilities to approach with curiosity and wonder! Challenges: discover cosmochemistry, simulate the expansion of the Universe, create your own Universe…
