A journey starting from two fixed points on the globe, united and given movement by the choreographer and bailaor [flamenco dancer] Andrés Marín. Two artistic expressions, flamenco and the music of Northern India, whose common roots have often been a source of dialogues and fruitful exchanges. Here we must imagine a journey to the India of the present, a dream danced with a modern flamenco. Bringing alive India, and here and now. It is not so much a matter of providing a new encounter between two types of ethnic music, strongly inspired by tradition, but more a question of going forward, exploring a shared space, that of multiple towns in a world that globalisation is tending to flatten out, but where India remains Indian in London or in Paris and where flamenco is getting up to date through the filter of its age-old codes. It comes as no surprise, then, that an urban artistic expression such as Kader Attou’s hip-hop quite naturally mixes in with this exchange of many parts.
