  • During the week dedicated to Orlando di Lasso, the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia and the Ishango Choir, conducted by Frank Braley, will perform a ‘Meta-Requiem’, consisting of two requiems by Mozart and Fétis and Gossec’s Messe des Morts. This work will reveal a common source of inspiration: Gossec’s work appears to have inspired Mozart in the composition of his Requiem.     François-Joseph Fétis (Mons, 1784-1871): excerpts from the Requiem of Atonement for the Death of Louis XVI (1815)
    François-Joseph Gossec (Vergnies, Hainaut, 1734-1829): excerpts from the Grande Messe des Morts (Missa pro defunctis – 1760)
