Le plus que divin Orlande, il mirabile Lassus… The whole of Europe acclaimed the ‘Prince of Musicians’. Lassus was a star of the Renaissance, a celebrity avant la lettre! This Montois of modest birth, whose exceptional soprano voice attracted the attention of the most eminent international dignitaries, had an extraordinary musical career throughout Europe. The bold expressiveness of his polyphony brought Hainaut glory, while international publishers contended for his scores. To coincide with the release of the fifth and final instalment of Lasso’s musical biography, by the label Musique en Wallonie, the Belgian vocal ensemble Vox Luminis pays homage to this musician who set the whole of Europe alight. Some flashes of brilliance from a remarkable international career.Coproduction: Musique en Wallonie - Mons 2015 Foundation - Festival de Wallonie-Hainaut.
