Van Gogh Europe

A group of different Dutch, Belgian and French museums, cultural heritage institutions, towns and organizations initiated the Van Gogh Europe project at the start of 2012.

The European dimension of Vincent van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh lived from 1853 to 1890. His artistic talent was not known during his lifetime. Today, he is recognized as one of the most famous artists in the world. His works are hung in the four corners of the world. His paintings, drawings and letters are still a source of inspiration for many people today. It is extraordinary to see that his paintings and drawings, the places where he lived and worked, from the Netherlands to the French Midi continue to draw admiration today.

Mission

The Van Gogh Europe Foundation is a network of collaborating European locations and collections associated with Vincent van Gogh’s life and work. It aims to make Van Gogh’s cultural heritage accessible to a wide audience, in order to inspire, unite and engage current and future generations.
