The Parc du Château is the highest point in the city, offering a stunning panorama of the whole region.

The Parc du Château, along with the Belfryand the Chapelle Saint-Calixte, still boasts some interesting features, such as the remains of the keep and the Tour César, from where an alleyway leads to the Rue Bervoets in the Parc du Château. On the side overlooking the Rue des Clercs, you can see a bust of Charles Plisnier (Prix Goncourt in 1937), by the sculptor Akarova.

Did you know? In the middle of the park there are large vaulted cellars, dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries, often referred to as the “souterrains” (the underground passages) because of local legends… A modern stairway has been built there now.
